Matt Denny recently tracked an old school radio show style session with a modern flare. There were 7 Voice over actors reading a script live in Studio West. Matt has also been tracking Chicago band Dexter, who have been hard at work on their newest release.

Dan Stock has been sound designing for the the radio show that Matt tracked, creating the soundscape for what will become known as New Eden. Dan has also working on new music with his band Bruiser, and recording bands such as The Patience and Latin musicians Jose.

Rob Ruccia has been keeping busy working with local, out of state and international music. New Jersey natives Action Item were in tracking drums and bass for a new release produced by Tom from the band Powerspace. Chicago local band, Somatic just finished 3 new songs to be released soon. New to the scene the band Nothing Forgotten was in tracking a 3 song debut. The University of Chicago's Middle Eastern Orchestra are wrapping up mixes on 10 compositions that were recorded in Studio West last summer, there were over 30 musicians performing classical Persian Music. Rob has also finished the final mixes for soon to be world music legends Funkadesi. They are gearing up for their release at the Park West May 9th 2008, be sure and check out the show it will be one for the record books.

 

 

Uptown is proud to welcome a new baby to our studio. Baby Grand Piano that is!! A Brand new Yamaha GB1 now sits proudly in Studio West. Legendary name with a great sound. Come check it out...

Uptown Recording has now had several projects that have been mixed in 5.1 Surround Sound. A live show for the Trippin Billies (Dave Mathews Tribute), mixed in 5.1 and synchronized to a video that was shot and edited in Studio West. This year's annual AIDS benefit Dance for Life, featured a song Composed by Douglas Brus, recorded and mixed in 5.1 by Rob Ruccia. The song accompanied the Grand Finale which featured dancers from Hubbard St. Dance, Geoffry Ballet, River North Dancers and more... You have to hear it to believe how good things can sound in surround.

Viacom/VH1 featured a song Co-written by Matt Denny, on it's show Next, the episode featured Willie Nelson. The song was recorded by Denny, and Mixed by Rob Ruccia.
